Crime Prevention Program is Underway

April Kilby, shown here with Calais Police Patrolman Kevin Stevens, is the criminal justice intern assigned to the Calais Police Department’s crime prevention unit. She will be working with officer Stevens in carrying out a program designed to help store owners and residents alike to protect their property, particularly from thievery. Every business in the city will be contacted by Miss Kilby during the next three months and many homeowners as well will be involved. Daughter of LeRoy and Jennie Kilby of Dennysville, Miss Kilby is a graduate of Shead High School in Eastport and recently received her Associate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
