April has brought the traditional ice out observation/prediction drama to both Cathance Lake (not yet) and Portland (No ICE allowed).
On April 2, Cathance was still well frozen, despite rumors of global warming destroying the planet.
Just before April Fool’s Day, the Maine College of Art (or “ahrt,” if you prefer) and Design had this “NO ICE allowed” sign prominently posted. Portland and Maine are sanctuary polities, and I’m sure illegal (sorry, “undocumented” — not yet amnestied) immigrants/asylees feel more protected and valued in the higher purple hair and nose ring density 1st Congressional District.
There is no truth to the suggestion that the trip down the Presumpscot from rural Sebago to Portland and Casco Bay is indeed a river journey to the Heart of Darkness. The photographer believes that their continued employment at MCAD would be in jeopardy if their identity were revealed. I can’t believe that such fair-minded well-educated artistes would have any desire to silence dissent or muzzle free speech and expression.
In the wake of the Soros financed national No Kings rallies -- why is billionaire Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX, X) evil, but billionaire George Soros (currency speculation) sainted? — the radical artistic talent of Portland’s lefties was on full display. You can get a taste of it at the 45:45 mark at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06__b9CEdCI. You’ll probably also understand why a sympathetic Newscenter Maine chose not to air such footage.
As a curmudgeonly Statler and Waldorf intern, I thought it would be a public service to document the many varieties of ICE the Soros acolytes and leftist members of the red-green environmentalist-socialist/commie-Islamist alliance will want to ban:
• Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Democratic Party and the left will not tolerate any effort to reverse their decision to open the borders under Biden in search of votes and deserved punishment of white supremacist Christian nationalist Republicans;
• Internal Combustion Engines because fossil fuels are bad;
• Foreigner’s “Cold as Ice” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySb1f9zWJkQ) because foreigners should have no right to complain about American immigration policy;
• The Ice Capades for obvious transphobia and gender identity confusion;
• O’Shea Jackson Sr., aka Ice Cube, for choosing an unfortunate stage name;
• Ice Coffee and Tea because grievances are best served hot.
