Woodland Basketball Star Honored at State House

Evan Monk scored his 1,000th point for the Woodland Dragons this winter, a feat that did not go unnoticed by two Washington County lawmakers — Senator Marianne Moore (R-Calais) and Rep. Will Tuell (R-East Machias), who represent Monk and his family in the Maine Legislature. The pair invited Monk, his parents Scott and Leslie Monk, and brother Ethan Monk — who also scored his 1,000th point for Woodland High School in 2023 — to the State House for session Feb. 26, presenting Evan with a legislative sentiment recognizing his accomplishments.
