Since their comeback a few years ago, the Calais High School Drama Program, the Calais Callbacks, have been steadily working to create and grow a program that had been absent from the school for over five years. CHS Graduate is Calais’ Newest Police Officer

Calais Police Department recently welcomed a new addition to its force.  Officer James Barnard, a 2001 Calais High School graduate, came on board in January.

Prior to working for Calais Police Department, Officer Barnard received gainful experience while employed at Indian Township Police Department.  He was employed there for nearly five years and held the position of sergeant.

Calais Regional Hospital Announces New Director of Radiology

James (Jack) Braley Jr. joined Calais Regional Hospital in February as Director of Radiology.  James recently relocated from Florida, however, this is his second return to his roots, having been born in Calais and raised in Baileyville. He was also the acting Director of Radiology for CRH in 2000-2001. He brings his previous CRH experience to include 35 years as a Registered Technical Radiographer with 27 years of that in Radiology Management.

As coronavirus (COVID-19) becomes more of a concern in our State, Calais Regional Hospital will institute visitor restrictions and illness screenings for those entering the facility as of March 18.  An alternate entrance for suspect coronavirus patients has also been established.  These proactive precautions are to protect our patients, staff and the communities we serve.  

Temporary changes to our Visitors Policy are being implemented.  Restrictions include:

• Visitors must be 12 years or older
