There is lots happening this Saturday in and around Calais:

There are two great craft and vendor fairs happening this Saturday.  At Calais Elementary School, you can find Calais Community Hospital’s Auxiliary’s fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Lunches will be available for purchase, as well.

The second vendor fair is set for this Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at Wabanaki Culture Center.  This is a Wabanaki Spring Market and will feature handcrafted items from various Wabanaki crafters and bakers.

At Baring Baptist Church this Saturday, a meet and greet with John Davis, US Army veteran, retired police officer, and author, will be held.  This event is from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. for veterans, military personnel, and first responders.  Then, the general public is welcome to attend from 10 to 11 a.m.  A free lunch will follow the public session.  For more information, reach out to Pastor Bobby Oliver at 207-214-6427.

The highly-anticipated Magic and Mentalism Double Illusion Show, hosted by Girl Scout Troop 2259, is set for this Saturday at Calais Middle/ High School.  Doors open for the show at 2:30 p.m., and the show starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15, and proceeds benefit the Troop’s trip to Europe next year.

Did you know… It is customary to wear a rose in your hair on May Day.

Send me your news, your shout-outs for good deeds done, or your well wishes to give, and I’ll be sure to share them here. Until next week, I hope you stay well, stay safe, and be happy.
