The first baby born at Down East Community Hospital in Machias for the new year arrived at 6:36 p.m. on January 5.

 Davis Joseph Green, the first child of Brenna Davis and Austin Green, of Campobello, weighed in at 9 pounds 7 ounces and a length of 21 ¾ inches. Both parents said Dr. Inegbenijie and the nurses were phenomenal, and they were very impressed by and happy to be at DECH. As to what they had to say about Davis, “We are in love; he is just perfect!”
