Pembroke Accident Update
Troopers said the large pickup truck overturned and struck a tree. Both men were not wearing seat belts and they were hauling a load of scrap metal on the trailer. The crash took place about a mile and a half from the Route 1 intersection.
Wednesday May 1, 2019, at approximately 0945 Hours a 2008 Chevrolet K3500 towing a trailer lost control and went off the roadway while traveling north on Route 214 (Ayers Junction Road) in Pembroke. As a result of the crash the driver, Michael Kilby (35), of Edmunds died. The passenger, Matthew Seeley (40), of Edmunds was transported by Lifeflight for serious injuries. Maine State Police Trooper Miles Carpenter is investigating the crash. Tpr. Carpenter is being assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Maine Marine Patrol, Pleasant Point PD, Downeast EMS, Dennysville Ambulance, Pleasant Point Ambulance, Charlotte Fire Dept, Perry Fire Dept., and Pembroke Fire Dept. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined and it is unknown if speed or alcohol are contributing factors at this time.
