Don’t forget to “spring ahead” this weekend. Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9, when clocks are forwarded one hour at 2 a.m. The change allows for longer daylight in the evenings to make better use of natural daylight and conserve energy. First widely adopted during World War I and again in World War II, DST is now observed in many countries, though not everywhere. In the U.S., it starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Its usefulness is debated, with many arguing that it disrupts sleep patterns more than it saves energy.
Send me your news, your shout-outs for good deeds done, or your well wishes to give, and I’ll be sure to share them here. Until next week, I hope you stay well, stay safe, and be happy.
