There are some very deserving big thank yous this week, the first to our public works department for getting all the senior banners hung, followed by the beautiful flowers.  Also, thank you to Anne Nixon, who beautified Flat Iron Park with the barrels of flowers and also arranged for the hanging baskets.

Calais United Methodist Church at 849 Main Street is holding a yard sale this Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Bargain hunters will find food, clothing, household items, and more.

This Saturday, June 8, is the third annual Brendan Leddy Memorial Jam at the skatepark.  This is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and brings a ton of fun for the whole family.  For more information, visit brendanleddymemorialfund.org.

We’re getting closer to the start of the farmers market.  It will open on Tuesday, June 18, at Flat Iron Park, and this year’s times will be noon to 2 p.m. each Tuesday.

Congratulations to all the local graduates.  Whether you’re wrapping up college, high school, sixth or eighth grade, or, like my adorable great-nephew Asher, graduating from Woodland’s pre-k, the future is your playground; dream big and go wild!

Send me your news, your shout-outs for good deeds done, or your well wishes to give, and I’ll be sure to share them here. Until next week, I hope you stay well, stay safe, and be happy.
